Rathnayake House, Matiyagane - Kurunegala

This is a single-story state bungalow in a middle of coconut plantation on 10 acers in sloping site.

The house layout was determined with the existing contour lines hence living area and the master bed room has large volume which almost double height .

The house has different transitional spaces such as typical verandah space and al fresco breakfast space as well.

Exposed bricks work was mainly used in common area and privet areas ware mostly conventional building finishes.

The timber trellis work was introduced to the external skin of the house to filter the direct sunlight.

The total area of the house is 2030 sq ft and estimated project cost was 10 million in 2022.
